We offer a variety of products to help children develop their reading, writing and thinking skills.
Teacher Manuals accompany our professional development courses but can also be used independently by teachers and administrators. The manuals emphasize practical ways to implement the many reading, writing, and critical thinking strategies that literacy research has proven to be effective.
ThinkingWorks Parent/Tutor Strategies is a set of strategy explanations and forms designed to be used directly by parents and tutors. Often, teachers will select from the sets individual strategies that can be used at home or in tutoring situations to reinforce what is being taught in the classroom.
Literature Guides help your student apply ThinkingWorks strategies to various fiction books suitable for children in grades 2 and up. Each literature guide contains four activities through which children develop skills in science, reading, writing, and thinking. Four of our guides are for books related to the arctic and complement a visit to the Toledo Zoo's Arctic Encounter exhibit. Available for Teachers and Parents/Tutors.
Community Activity Guides encourage children to use ThinkingWorks strategies during fun family or class outings to the Toledo Zoo's Arctic Encounter exhibit and the Toledo Museum of Art. The Guides are available in Teacher and Parent/Tutor versions and are free for downloading.
